PATNA: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad is expected to undergo kidney transplant early next week.
Lalu is presently undergoing tests required before the transplant in a Singapore hospital, sources close to his family said, adding that the transplant could take place on December 5.
“It is expected that transplant will be done by around December 5 if all the reports are fine,” said the source, adding his younger son and deputy chief minister Tejashwi Prasad is expected to leave for Singapore around December 3, after addressing an election rally in Kurhani on November 30 and December 2.
Lalu had left for Singapore with his wife and former chief minister Rabri Devi and eldest daughter Misa Bharti and is currently staying with his second daughter Rohini Acahrya who is donating her kidney to her father.
Rohini, who is quite active on social media on Tuesday lashed at those spreading fake rumour related to her father’s transplant and involvement of her interest in donating him the kidney. “Don’t go on fake rumours, this is a dedication towards a father. We are not those involved in the kidney trade, rather we are those who can dedicate everything for their father,” an excerpt from her post read.
